Leaving Room To Wander: Bikepacking Through Azerbaijan

For two weeks, I set out to explore Azerbaijan by bike with no fixed agenda beyond following curiosity. Riding through mountain villages, vast open landscapes, and places I'd never heard of before, the trip became far more than covering distance.

Bikepacking strips travel back to its simplest form. Every day is an exercise in adapting to the unknown, finding food, navigating unfamiliar roads, communicating across language barriers, and learning to embrace whatever the day brings. The challenges are part of the experience, but so are the unexpected moments of kindness, conversations over tea, and the perspectives that only come from moving slowly.

It wasn't about riding as far or as fast as possible. It was about exploration, stepping outside my comfort zone, and allowing the journey to shape the story rather than trying to control it.
